Laser job shops benefit greatly from membership of AILU as the largest group of industrial laser users within AILU. Key benefits for laser job shops include:
Special Interest Groups
Job shop members enjoy automatic membership of the Job Shop Group. Also the recent internet Design for Laser manufacture initiative should significantly increase interest in laser-based manufacture as well as offering advertising opportunities for laser job shops.
The Laser User Magazine (formerly The Industrial Laser User)
The magazine regularly contains discussion of items of interest to the job shop business as well as technical articles on all aspects of laser machine technology including tips and recent developments in laser cutting, welding, marking, drilling, cladding, micromachining and a host of other industrial laser processes.

Sales leads
Job shop members are listed (free of charge) in the laser-related services section of our products and services directory. For a small additional fee you can enhance your presence by adding a weblink and/or logo as well as a boxed entry to appear at the top of the listing, contact us for more details.
Through its high search engine rating, members enjoy a greatly enhanced internet presence. Also, any enquiries to the AILU office for sub contract work are circulated to all job shop members. In addition to the directory, we produce (free of charge) a job shop flatbed cutting capability table for enquirers looking for flatbed cutting work.
Workshops
Apart from technical workshops on a variety of laser processes of interest to laser job shops, we organise a unique 1 day job shop business workshop every year.
Consultancy
Members enjoy free limited consultancy. You can be assured of practical advice on a wide range of subjects from safety to technical and business enquiries. To submit an enquiry contact us through our web form or by email now.
Forums
AILU members automatically qualify for access to the Technical Forum, which provides answers and opinion on the widest range of technical and business questions, Job shop members also enjoy membership of the Job Shop forum, where they can share the latest gossip, rumours and gripes in the industry. There is also a restricted job shop forum for the Job Shop owner/managers where more sensitive information, such as late-payers and recent liquidations in the manufacturing sector, can be shared.
Surveys
Every year AILU organises at least two commercial surveys for job shop members on such topics as the cost of gas, electricity, materials, and transport. These surveys are free but the results are distributed only to participants. To find out about our next survey contact us by email.
Situations vacant
Members can submit a Situations Vacant, which will be accessible to all visitors to the site. Any registered visitor to the AILU site can also submit a Situations Wanted advert.
